Works at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Southeast London

McLaren Construction have been awarded a contract by Lewisham & Greenwich NHS Trust to deliver site wide infrastructure works to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in southeast London.

McLaren are working with subcontractor Dowds Group. Work on the project will consist of the installation of new primary high-voltage and low-voltage electricity distribution along with back-up generators, a refurbished energy centre, a new vacuum insulated evaporator compound with the addition of structural and building works.

Also included will be ventilation improvments, replacement of the air handling units which serve the operating theatres, pathology, delivery suites, special care baby unit and ward areas.

McLaren have communicated with clinicians, the estates team and other stakeholders to be able to develp an 80 week programme aimed at supporting the trust’s ‘business as usual’ policy delivering works without interupting hospital procedures.

Work on the development is planned for completion in June 2024.
