Walsall Hospital extension

Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust have awarded a contract to Kier for the construction of an inpatient facility at Dorothy Pattison Hospital in Walsall.

The extension will replace existing facilities that are at Bloxwith Hospital, three miles north. The new plans are for a 15 bed functional ward together with a 10 bed dementia ward, both for older patients.

The project is designed to be rated BREEAM Excellent using air source heat pumps and solar panels.

Enabling works have already begun and main construction works are planned for the autumn of this year and a planned opening date of spring 2024.

This project was secured through the P22 Framework.
