UK’s Tallest Rollercoaster

For all the fans of Amusement Park rides good news ! – planning permission has been given for the construction of what is thought to be the UK’s tallest rollercoaster.

The new rollercoaster known as Project Exodus is to be constructed at Thorpe Park amusement park in Surrey. This will be the first new rollercoaster since 2012 when ‘The Swarm’ was opened. The new rollercoaster will be 72 metres (236ft) high. Construction is planned to begin shortly with a planned opening in 2024. Blackpool Pleasure Beach are know to presently have the highest rollercoaster in the UK at a height of 235 ft.

Smytheman Architectural are the architects for the Thorpe Park project having previously designed The Swarm at Thorpe Park and The Smiler at Alton Towers.
