Approximately 175 Ukrainian refugees are to be offered jobs by J Murphy & Sons, to help support them in their relocation to the UK.
Among its workforce of 3,500 Murphy already have Ukrainians and east Europeans, and hopes to introduce a ‘buddy system’ to help refugees settle when working for the company.
Positions to be offered will include onsite operative jobs together with office roles in finance or administration.
Murphy’s group people and communications director, Dawn Moore said: “We have a number of opportunities within our growing business and would like to support those affected by the current situation in Ukraine. We offer many different levels of jobs along with a wide package of support. Many of our Ukrainian, Polish and eastern European Murphy people have also offered to help in any way possible”.
John Murphy, chief executive said: “We are a family run business who aim to go above and beyond when it comes to supporting our people and communities. This is a wonderful opportunity to offer employment to those Ukrainians looking for work in the UK and to help them and their families to adapt to their life here. We very much look forward to welcoming new colleagues from Ukraine to the Murphy family.”
