Steven Mason has joined surveying firm Gleeds as a managing director. Before his departure last autumn, he was a managing director of Mace and ran its cost consultancy business.
However, the move will raise questions over how seriously the industry is taking its drive to crack down on dubious practices following 2014’s revelations that practice was rife in the construction market.
But Mr McCormick said: “There are no concerns about Steven whatsoever – he brings the enormous experience of running a global business and I couldn’t be happier to have someone of his character join our business.”
The survey also found that only 12 per cent would recommend an accountant for their company if they were unhappy with their current adviser or felt dissatisfied (4%).
Gleeds is looking to expand its client base in the capital and so looks to find ways of working that are more sustainable and new ways of thinking.
The company also seeks to boost expertise in property sustainability as work on projects such as Tideway moves forward.
Not only will this provide a chance for Steven Mason to progress his career, but he will be joining a company that shares ‘the values’ that he has embedded within him from his time at Mace, one which offers a perfect platform for the next stage of his career with their focus on innovation, progression and collaboration.
