JS Wright, Mechanical & Electrical Building services specialist have been awarded a contract on a residential development at Bristol Docks. The contract is thought to be worth £3.5m.
A derelict site at McArthur’s Yard on Gas Ferry Road, Bristol is to have 142 apartments and JS Wright will design and install the mechanical services.
Led by housebuilder Hill with The Guiness Partnership the £36m project will deliver a variety of homes for market sale, shared ownership and social rent together with ground floor commercial space.
The contract for JS Wright is to design and install an energy centre with relevant pipework to distribute low-temperature hot water heating to radiators in each apartment via direct single plate heat interface units (HIUS). A boosted cold water system for the domestic hot and cold-water supply will also be installed by them.
Mechanical ventilation heat recovery systems, smoke ventilation and dry risers, together with water sprinklers within residential areas are also to be installed.
Sanitaryware for each apartment, an internal rainwater system and above-ground drainage will also be supplied by JS Wright.
To provide a building management system (BMS) to incoporate a pre-payment billing system for monitoring each apartment’s energy use is part of the brief.
JS Wright will begin work this month with completion planned for May 2023.
