Galliford Try have been awarded a contract for the redevelopment of the previous Scunthorpe Market site. The contract was awarded by North Lincolnshire Council with the redevelopment seeing the repurposing of empty high street space.
The new three-storey development will cover the southern half of the former market site with the front to be situated directly on the high street. There will also be 27,000 sqft of office space to create an ‘enterprise and innovation’ hub, also included will be accommodation for 46 medical students.
The accommodation will form the first phase of the project and will be built by Galliford Try’s Building Northeast & Yorkshire business, The second phase of the project will be the addition of the office space.
The development will create a three-storey L-shaped building with the accommodation and office facilities brought together in two separate wings. The office space will be for commercial and also public use providing flexible work areas together with a cafe area.
