RoofCERT, a relatively new certification scheme for individual roofing operatives is to be incorporated into the trading activities of NFRC CPS, the corporate self-certification scheme, its sister business, as The National Federation of Roofing Contractors decide to combine the operations of its two certification schemes.
James Talman, NRFC Group chief executive said: “NFRC CPS is founded on certifying companies who are involved in roof refurbishment work and held accountable through its ISO 17065 UKAS accreditation. RoofCERT is focused on individual certificates which is considered a natural extension to CPS processes and procedures. Companies who operate in the compliance market will be able to demonstrate that apart from their company credentials their workforce meet current mandated technical competencies through on going validation of skills”.
He went on to say: “RoofCERT will of course carry on reaching out to all installers in the industry as the demand for proof of competency continues to increase whether that be market demands on matters of building safety, CSCS grandfather rights card renewals or to providing assurance to homeowners. The strong desire is that roofers consider being RoofCERT certified a sign of their professional competency”.
NFRC CPS Managing Director Tanya Cooper also added that: “Our CPS team are committed to building on these foundations and support all who have dedicated time and energy in helping to get RoofCert set in motion. It is extremely encouraging to see the strong pipeline of registrations and our urgent priority is to assist these roofers to accomplish their certified status”.
