Plans for 21-storey student rooms in City of London

Planning permission has been granted to property company Dominus to build purpose built student accommodation in the City of London.

The current five-storey building at 65 Crutched Friars which is situated between Fenchurch Street, Tower Hill and Aldgate stations, will be replaced by a stepped tower rising to 21 storeys.

The new building which is designed by Danish architect 3XN will provide 780 student rooms with the added bonus of securing the future of London’s Migration Museum which is currently situated in a shopping centre in Lewisham. Dominus are helping to fund a £15m relocation and refit which will create the first ever Migration Museum for Britain. The plans are for the Museum to be located within the first three floors of the new building.
