A £30m office-to-residential conversion project in Leeds city centre has been awarded to Colbre Projects as principal contractor.
The conversion of Fairfax House, an office building in the Leed’s Arena Quarter has begun, with plans to create 168 residential apartments.
Designed by Brewster Bye Architects, Fairfax House on the corner of Merrion Street and Wade Lane is being developed by Leeds based property company YPP.
The main seven storey office building, built in the 1960s is to consist of 154 studio and one bedroom apartments, which has permitted development approval.
Brewster Bye also secured planning permission earlier in the year for a two-story rooftop extension to consist of 14 one, two and three bedroom apartments and replace an existing rooftop structure. Amenity space for residents is also included in the plans.
Work is planned for completion in August 2023.
