Proposals are being made for the construction of a warehousing facilitiy near Stirling.
The new facility is to be used as a ‘whisky maturation’ warehouse scheme situated at Bandheath Industrial Estate in Throsk, near Fallin.
Ian McLeod Distillers, who are the 10th largest Scotch whisky company are considering the 8.2 hectare site for whisky warehousing to store maturing casks together with an associated blend centre, tank farm and offices. The project will also include landscaping, access, parking, drainage and facilitating works.
The warehouse will be used to store casks from the many Ian McLeod distilleries situated in Rosebank Falkirk, Glengoyne distillery Stirlingshire and Tamdhu distillery Knockando on Speyside. Eventually the matured whisky would be transferred by road to IMD’s bottling facility in Broxburn.
