New Sports Centre for Coventry

BAM Construction are under a pre-construction services agreement with Nuneaton & Bedworth Borough Council for the planned Bedworth Activity Hub.

A building contract for the delivery of the full £24.7m project being a further option the Council have on the completion of the pre-construction services. The pre-construction services include ground investigation surveys together with an extensive ‘cut and fill’ excercise.

Planned to begin later this year the main construction work will be phased around existing leisure centre operations. Completion is planned for 2024.

The new Bedford Leisure Centre facilities are to include a learner pool with a moveable floor, together with a 25-metre eight lane swimming pool. The sports facilities are to comprise of a four-court sports hall, a 120-station fitness centre, a 3G sports pitch, a skate park and a learn to ride facility.

Bam Construction are also being considered for facilities management, design and property development.

Together with the council’s appointed project team Bam’s team are working to develop the design, logistics and technical details.

Public services portfolio holder at Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council, Councillor Sue Markham said: “I can’t wait to see the plans develop further now we have Bam with us as we make good progress with our vision for the new Hub”.

The Procure Partnerships Framework was used for the competitive procurement process.
