One of the first in the DfE’s school rebuilding programme will be St Peter’s Collegiate Academy in Wolverhampton and Kier have been chosen to design and deliver the project.
The plans involve designing and planning the project while demolishing existing buildings and creating temporary accommodation while building the new secondary school.
Four of the current seven buildings on site will be replaced during the construction of the new academy. Kier are to provide the temporary accommodation to minimise any disruption to teaching for the students.
Kier Construction Eastern and Midland procured the project through the Department for Contracts Framework 2021. Work is planned to begin in the summer of 2023 with plans in place to move into the new school in 2025.
