New Primary School for Pembrokeshire County Council

A contract to build a primary school for Pembrokeshire County Council has recently been signed by Morgan Sindall Contractors.

The new Pembroke Welsh School (Ysgol Gymraeg Bro Penfro) is to be built on the site of the old Pembroke School at Bush Hill, near Henry Tudor School.

The pre-construction phase has been completed by Morgan Sindall and as Pembrokeshire County Council have already granted approval of the planning application work is expected to begin in May, subject to funding approval from the Welsh government. Opening of the school is planned for September 2023.

The school will teach in the Welsh language, which replaces the dual stream provision at Ysgol Gelli Awr (Golden Grove School). There will be a 30 place nursery provision together with places for 210 pupils aged between 5 and 11.

Morgan Sindall Construction have also recently been appointed to build a new 1,900 place school situated in Monmouthshire.
