Powys County Council is to introduce a new purchasing system to encourage small contractors to bid for building works.
The new system aims to make it easier for small businesses to bid for minor construction projects between £50,000 to £500,000. These could include works within council owned properties, schools, libraries, leisure centres, care homes and day centres.
Contractors who wish to apply for the ‘DPS’ will need a SSIP third party health & safety registration, be Constructionline registered to a minimum of a Level 2 (Silver) status with relevant work categories and also have the appropriate levels of insurance.
Small to medium-sized business are encourged to get in contact with the procurement team – via commercial services @ powys.gov.uk – for more information.
