The first of five roof trusses have been installed for Everton’s new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock by Laing O’Rourke.
The steelwork section, weighing 100-tonne, was put into place in the north stand and this will start the process of further lifts over the coming few weeks.
The new stadium will have a total of five roof trusses installed with two in the smaller north stand and three in the south stand which is to eventually accommodate up to 13,000 spectators.
Everton’s new stadium is planned for completion in 2024/25 and will have created thousands of job opportunities. The project is considered one of the largest single-site private sector developments in the country and the completed stadium will attract many thousands of visitors to the city of Liverpool each year while contributing approximately £1.3bn to the UK economy.
