As part of a £100m roadworks package Costain have been designated with reconfiguring junction 33 of the M6 together with building a new road to service the housing development planned at Bailrigg Garden Village, south of Lancashire.

Before the planning application and public discussions, proposals are still in the process of being developed.

Ian Richardson, Costain local authority director said that the plan was for his company to build ‘an accessible, sustainable and integrated road network’.

The Bay Gateway in the Lancaster areas, which opened in 2016 and linked junction 34 of the M6 with the Morcambe and Heysham peninsula is a previous project which was worked on by Costain for Lancashire County Council..
