A joint venture between housing association L & Q and The Hill Group has started work on the construction of a redevelopment on a former car dealership site in Brentford, West London.
The site is situated next to the new Brentford FC and London Irish Stadium and plans for the redevelopment are for 441 new homes, a residents gym and a children’s nursery. The project will consist of five buildings of heights up to 18 storeys offering views overlooking Kew Gardens and the River Thames. Half of the properties will be designated as affordable homes and consist of a selection of shared ownership and affordable rented homes.
This will be the first joint venture between Hills and L&Q and it is expected that residents will be able to move in by September 2024 with the project completing by the end of 2026.
The development was delayed by planning wrangles with Hounslow Council refusing planning permission for the scheme but the Mayor of London intervened and overturned that decision.
