The first factory built homes on former Network Rail site in Beeston have been craned into place by volumetric housing producer Ilke Homes.
Ilke Homes were chosen by Network Rail to develop this site due to the speed of delivery which is available with prefabrication. Ilke Homes have take 20 months from site acquisition to lifting in housing units, with all units having been delivered to site within six months of starting groundworks.
Ilke Homes, in partnership with EMH (East Midlands Housing) is delivering 42 affordable homes to the brownfield site next to Beeston station. Ilke is to act as turnkey developer with EMH agreeing to purchase the completed development.
Tom Heathcote Ilke Homes executive director of development said: “This completed development will highlight how offsite manufacturing can breathe new life into public land, with the added benefit of well-designed communities that are connected to transport links”.
