A second student housing contract at the University of the West of England’s Frenchay Campus, Bristol, has been awarded to Offsite Solutions.
Offsite Solutions are specialist manufacturers of bathroom pods and Vinci Building has contracted them to produce 757 glass-reinforced plastic (GRP) bathroom pods.
This phase of the Frenchay Campus Development, planned for completion in time for the 2023/24 student intake, will consist of 900 bedspaces in three buildings in groups of four, six and eight bedrooms with ensuite or shared bathrooms.
This project will be one of the largest Passivhaus projects in the UK and will have all the hot and cold water pipework, brackets and fittings in the bathrooms insulated. The taps and showers are produced to run at lower temperatures in order to reduce energy consumption.
Stride Treglown is the architect for the project and Amber are building consultant.
