The first project via the Welsh Education Partnership Company using the Welsh government’s mutual investment funding model has been started with buildings for Argoed High School in Mynydd Isa, Flintshire by Robertson Construction North West..
Robertson Facilities Management are to deliver the hard facilities management services for the campus after completion of the build from November 2024.
The project is to be built on the site of the existing Argoed High School in Mynydd Isa to provide nursery, primary and secondary schooling. Covering a gross internal floor area of 10,507sqm the primary and high school will however remain as separate schools while operating from a single building sharing some facilities.
Demolition of the old high school buildings and the formation of new games pitches where they stand is planned for completion by September 2025.
The school has been designed to be BREEAM excellent and will be net zero carbon in operation.
