Speller Metcalfe have been awarded a contract to build an extension at Filton Leisure centre in Bristol by sports centre operator Active Nation.
The plans for the project will include the demolition of the reception area and changing rooms and the construction of a new extension on the side of the existing swimming pool. The extension is to include a new reception, cafe, soft play area and a new single point of entry.
The objective of the construction is to extend the facilities around the swimming pool area including the wet and dry side changing together with improvements to the building.
After the extension is completed Speller Metcalf are to demolish an adjacent pub to make room for extra parking, landscaping and also external changing facilities for football teams.
The extension is planned for completion in the autumn of 2023.
