A new three storey building at Monwearmouth Hospital is to be built in front of the old one to provide more office and administration space.
This 3,347 sqm building will accommodate a front entrance to the main outpatient facilities on the existing site. Open plan workspaces, consultants offices on the upper foors, a reception area and public cafe are also included in the plans.
Monkwearmouth Development Ltd (MDL), a joint venture between Sir Robert McAlpine Capital Ventures and Argon Property Deelopment Solutions have been awarded the contract for this project. Sir Robert McAlpine will be carrying out the construction work for MDL and are already on site with plans to finish by January 2024.
