Main contractor for the construction of a hotel in Exeter is to be Red Construction, and designed by architect ECE Westworks, Bristol.
The Zeal Hotel is to be net carbon using cross-laminated timber in its construction, with renewable engergy to power it.
Holiday Inn Express and an Ibis Hotel, both in the southwest, have been developed by Zeal Hotels, this however, will be the first project under its own name.
The four-storey, 140 room hotel is to be built by Red Construction Southwest and completion is planned for early 2024.
Derek Quinn, Red South West managing director said: “We have worked with Zeal Hotels for many years and it a privilege to be working on their first net zero carbon Zeal Hotel. The build will involve many unique elements which will draw on Red Construction South West teams wide ranging expertise”.
