Enabling Works begin at Truro Hospital

Bam have been chosen by the Royal Cornwall Hospital NHS Trust as the main contractor for the new Women & Children’s wing in Truro.

Replacing the existing Princess Alexandra Wing the new wing will be built as part of the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro.

The new building will include a new main entrance for the whole hospital bringing together all womens and children’s services into one building.

The project has increased since its inception and will demolish six derelict houses creating space for a works compound for Bam while building works are carried out over the next six years. Car parking for patient and visitors will also be relocated.

Enabling works for the new hospital will continue into 2024 and 2025 and with the provision of a new pathology building and relocation of cardiac and pharmacy services will make way for the new building.
