Development next to Gloucester railway station

A development of 315 homes to be built next to Gloucester railway station has had plans approved.

The Great Western Road sidings was obtained by Eutopia Homes in 2021 from Network Rail with hopes of turning it into apartments and townhouses. The brownfield site has appeared in many local authority policy documents for many years as suitable for redevelopment and will now be named Great Western Yard.

Eutopia plans to build a combination of contemporary and traditional apartments and townhouses which will be clad in a mix of reclaimed and textured Flemish red brick and joined by green frontage and courtyards.

The development has been designed by Darling Associates Architects and is to be built in two phases comprising of 216 apartments in 3 blocks on the northern side together with 87 town houses and 27 apartments on the southern side.
