Dagenham Green Development

Planning permission has been approved for the first phase of the Dagenham Green Development on the site of the previous Ford Motors Factory.

Peabody housing association is operating a joint venture with the Hill Group and plan to build 935 homes, subject of course to agreement from the Environmental Agency. Work on the first phase is planned to start early next year.

The first part of the project will be in the southwest part of the site in the borough of Barking & Dagenham, by Dagenham Dock railway station. Outline planning approval for the wider masterplan area from the London Borough of Barking & Dagenham was given in March 2022.

The complete project is expected to have more than 3,500 homes with 1,640 to be affordable tenures. Included in the plans will be more than 1,600 sqm of commercial, retail and industrial developments.

This new development will create affordable homes, key facilities which will include a new Secondary School and medical centre at Dagenham Green.
