Construction consultant Turner & Townsend have been appointed by Norfolk County Council to support a programme of works aimed at reducing fossil fuel consumption in council-owned buildings.
The planned decarbonisation programme will improve energy efficiency while eliminating the use of fossil fuel for 106 assets owned or managed by Norfolk Councy Council including museums, fire stations, offices and libraries. Turner & Townsend will advise on delivery of Norfolk’s environment policy and net zero carbon plans, they will also provide project and cost management services to support the delivery of the decarbonisation programme.
The project will run for four years and is to take a fabric first approach to the building retrofit and focus on improvements to insulation, ventilation and draught-proofing.
The decarbonisation is part of the council’s commitment to achieve net zero across all operations by 2030.
