McLaughlin & Harvey have been appointed as the main contractor by The Ayrshire Hospice, for the redevelopment of the hospice at Racecourse Road in Ayr.
Work is due to commence at the site next year and re-opening of the site is planned for the summer of 2024. The project was awarded under Frameworks Scotland 3 which is a framework managed by Health Facilities Scotland.
Ayrshire Hospice is the first non-NHS organisation to procure a contractor through the ‘Frameworks Scotland 3’ model. It is considered that this efficient selection process has brought an experienced Tier 1 Principal Contractor who is expected will carry out a sympathetic restoration of the listed buildings while also delivering the highest standards of construction on the new build element.
