A contract to build the final section of the Bottley by-pass has been awarded to Milestone Infrastructure by Hampshire County Counci. The contract is to build the third and final phase of the Botley by-pass which will run between Winchester Street and the A334 with construction work to begin in the summer of 2023.
Plans for the 1.8km of new road include a new bridge over the River Hamble, a roundabout junction with the A334 and a new access road for Newhouse Farm.
Initial vegetation clearance is planned to go ahead in February and March 2023 as the completion of archaeological ground and ecological site investigations has already taken place.
Construction of the first two stages of Botley by-pass were started in January 2021 by Volker Fitzpatrick and completion is planned for early 2023.
A two-stage contract has been awarded to Milestone to enable them to become involved in the design process with the county council’s in-house engineers.
