An outline planning application is to be submitted by Bruntwood SciTech to extend its Alderley Park development in Cheshire.
Plans are for two new buildings, a lab and office space totalling approximately 200,000 sq ft, a 50-50 joint venture between developer Bruntwood and Legal & General. Bruntwood, Sci Tech and Symphony Park – a new retirement living brand of Vita Group – have also announced proposals for a development of 160 retirement apartments at the Park.
Alderley Park already has more than 250 organisations in the science & technology sector, which includes the Medicines Discovery Catapult & Cancer Research UK Manchester Insitute. The sale of the residential plot to Symphony Park will fund the new science and tech development.
Sam Darby, Bruntwood SciTech head of development said; “The park has been transformed from a single occupier site to an energetic vibrant place, home to a community where people can work, create and relax”.
Community along with innovation are at the very heart of Alderley Park and the proposed new developments will enhance an already exciting development. The cross funding from the new residential devlopment is imperitive to the investment in providing a specialist infrastructure to meet the growing need for a modern science and technology area.
